TallyTV is a media tracking app for iOS and Android provided by onelldev. TallyTV does not require a separate TallyTV account, and onelldev does not operate a TallyTV account backend that receives your media library, watch history, or sync credentials. The app communicates directly with services you choose to connect and with the advertising, analytics, and purchase providers described below. Feature availability varies by platform and app version.
Connecting a service is optional. When you connect or sync, TallyTV sends and receives media identifiers, list status, watched history, and episode progress as needed:
Data already synced to a connected service is governed by that service and is not deleted when you remove local TallyTV data.
Ad-supported versions of TallyTV use Google AdMob. On Android, ads include an inline banner in Discover and full-screen interstitials at browsing breaks. New Android installations receive seven full days without ads, measured from Android's recorded installation time; an app update does not restart this period. TallyTV Pro removes banner and full-screen ads throughout the Android app, and existing ad-removal purchases are honored. On iOS, supported versions may offer banners and optional rewarded ads; rewarded ads are shown only when you choose an offered reward, such as a temporary ad-free period or an extra manual sync.
When advertising is enabled, Google and its advertising partners may collect and share device or other identifiers (including the advertising identifier when available), IP address (which may be used to estimate general location), app and ad interactions, and diagnostic information for ad delivery, advertising measurement, analytics, and fraud prevention. They also process advertising-consent choices. TallyTV does not add your watch history, media-library titles, search text, or sync credentials to ad requests. Non-personalized ads may still involve data processing for these purposes.
TallyTV uses Google's User Messaging Platform to obtain advertising consent where required and checks whether ads may be requested before enabling them. On Android, when required, you can revisit your choices under Settings > Privacy > Ad privacy choices; on iOS, use Settings > Privacy Choices when available. Your device's privacy settings also provide advertising-identifier controls. Android ad requests and consent prompts are deferred during the initial seven-day ad-free period. Learn more about how Google uses information from apps that use its services and Google's advertising technologies.
The production Android app uses PostHog for optional product analytics to understand feature usage and reliability. This is enabled by default and can be turned off under Settings > Privacy > Share anonymous analytics. This setting is separate from advertising consent and is not changed by purchasing Pro or by the introductory ad-free period.
Analytics events include app installation, updates, opens, screen categories, onboarding completion, and coarse outcomes of searches, syncs, imports, and purchases. Events can include app and operating-system versions, device model/type, a random installation identifier, and a session identifier. TallyTV does not send media titles, watch history, search queries or Ask TallyTV prompts, account names, email addresses, passwords, tokens, server addresses, payment-card details, or purchase tokens in these events. Session recording, screenshots, and identified person profiles are disabled. IP-based geolocation enrichment is disabled; like other network services, the analytics provider receives the connection's IP address when processing a request.
Turning analytics off stops future analytics collection and transmission and clears queued analytics events and the app's analytics identifier. Re-enabling analytics creates a new random identifier. Opting out does not automatically erase events already received by PostHog. Analytics data is processed for product improvement under our provider's service and retention settings; contact us with questions or deletion requests. We may be unable to link anonymous events to you. Debug and test builds do not send production analytics.
Apple processes purchases made in the iOS app through the App Store, and Google processes purchases made in the Android app through Google Play. TallyTV reads transaction and entitlement information needed to determine the product purchased and whether it is active, expired, canceled, pending, or revoked. onelldev does not receive your payment-card details. Apple, Google, App Store Connect, and Google Play Console may provide transaction and sales reporting under their respective policies.
TallyTV does not create a named TallyTV account profile. If you contact support, onelldev receives your email address and the information you include. Support messages are used to respond to you, troubleshoot issues, and maintain reasonable support records.
onelldev does not sell your personal information for money. Data is shared as described above with services you choose to use, with Google and its advertising partners for advertising, with Google and Apple for purchases, with PostHog for enabled product analytics, or when required for legal, fraud-prevention, or security purposes. Depending on applicable law, certain advertising disclosures may be considered a sale, sharing, or targeted advertising; use the advertising privacy choices offered in the app where applicable.
TallyTV uses Apple Keychain on iOS and Android Keystore-backed encrypted preferences on Android for sync secrets. It uses HTTPS for SIMKL, Trakt, TMDB, Google, and Apple communications. Yamtrack security depends on the server address you configure. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
This policy may be updated as TallyTV changes. The latest version and effective date will remain available on this page.
